Pawly is a robotic pet toy that can be controlled from anywhere using a mobile app or web browser. Users can take pictures and videos, dispense treats and play with their pets in real time while away from home.

The idea began as a way to find an application for a robot that can be driven using an app from remote locations. After hours of brainstorming and research, we found that pet owners often felt guilty when leaving their pet home alone. Pawly was created as a way to ease that guilt and give pet owners a new way to play with their pet.

Startup Weekends are 54 – hour events where developers, designers, marketers, product managers, and startup enthusiasts come together to share ideas, form teams, build products, and launch startups.

Every year, there are over 100 Startup Weekend events all over the world. First and Second place winners from each event are given the opportunity to compete in the Global Startup Battle.

In 2013, Pawly Won 2nd Place in the local Startup Weekend event and went on to win Global Startup Weekend’s grand prize. The Competition Spanned across 40 countries with 167 events and over 15,000 participants.

After finding out we were able to participate in Global Startup Battle, our team had only 24 hours to produce this video so we could be entered in the competition.

As part of our prize we were given the opportunity to participate in the 2014 Startup Launch Conference in San Francisco. This picture of me and my team was taken after 3 days of nonstop pitching our idea and networking. Aren't we cute :) ?
